Peter Greenwald, owner of Dream Courts of Southern California had previously made his mark in the industry by teaming with corporate and private sponsors to provide free basketball courts at schools all over the country.

In 1994 in NYC, he started the National Backboard Network in memory of his son Craig, a victim of brain cancer. The NBN teamed with Footlocker and Fila to replace backboards that had fallen into disrepair at inner city schools. The results produced 2000 new ”Winners Never Quit” backboards in NYC, Philadelphia, Dallas, Detroit, Boston and Chicago, which were maintained by the programs’ sponsors and still stand today. Peter is seen here with then Mayor Giuliani at the NYC launch.

Upon moving to the West Coast in 1997, Greenwald set out to not only get sponsored backboards for schools, but entire sponsored court makeovers became his goal. It was then that heformed Dream Courts. Greenwald set forth to put youth basketball leagues and schools in partnerships where the schools courts would be refurbished with new surfacing and awesome basketball goals in exchange for usage by the leagues during the schools off hours and off months. That program has already provided 15 full courts in the L.A. area with new hoops and lighting free for area schools.

Greenwald then teamed up with the Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation and Dream Courts became their selected supplier of court materials for their Extreme Court Makeover partnerships. Dream Courts has built courts for NBA Cares, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, National Junior Basketball, Agoura Youth Basketball and numerous churches, synagogues and schools and corporations.

Peter is a hands-on owner , not a commissioned sales person , and when you work with Dream Courts, it’s owner works for you!.
